A few weekends ago my dad and stepmom came down to Wilmington for a visit. It is so nice to have them down and we always have a blast when they visit. My dad loves to have a project on the agenda (and I wonder where I got it from) and sometimes we get to it and sometimes we don't but it is always fun to talk about the things we are going to do. He gives me great ideas for things to do in the house like what piece of furniture needs to be redone or what paint the fireplace needs. This time we didn't get to redo the coffee table but hopefully we will get to it soon!

The spread of seafood :)

Last weekend since it was a 3 day weekend, we headed up to boone to meet 3 other couples! A few months ago some of the lovely ladies I graduated from grad school with decided we should go in on a cabin. I am soo glad that we decided to and hope that it becomes a tradition!
Friday night we ended up at Bluewater because it is always a fan favorite and the food is delicious. I think dad and I had bacon wrapped scallops that we really good. Saturday night the weather cleared up so we decided to have an oyster roast! All of us LOVE oysters and what better time to have one than with visitors. Here are some pics from the weekend!

We actually went on thursday night to stay with some family friends for the night. It was so nice to catch up with them and just sit around and talk. I love any morning that I can sit with a cup of coffee and talk :) Friday we went to lunch at the Banner Elk Cafe and met up with Laurie and her bf when they got in town. All of us were able to bring the puppies so it was so nice that we didn't have to kennel ellie. She got some great play time with the three cute puppies below. Saturday we all went to the app football game and had to bundle up because it was cold! We came back to the cabin and ended up playing games until bedtime. It was so refreshing to hang out with these girls and get to talk "speech" for a weekend!
