So today I was in Bed Bath and beyond buying a wedding shower gift. That store has become a staple for gifts because #1 you can always get a 20% off coupon and #2 they gift wrap for free. I've been to so many showers/weddings I have it down to a science.
So once I selected an item that I felt was adequate (because you never want to be the one that gave a bunch of random items, its like an unspoken thought for me that the items must have a common thread some how) of course it could only be ordered online. I go searching for another item and find a wonderful thing for the kitchen. I also notice on the way to the counter that I indeed picked the greatest item ever because there was a "mail in rebate" offer. I got really excited because in my attempt to save every dime for moving this would be wonderful.
Once I got to the car, I realized the mail in rebate would indeed NOT work when giving a gift because it requires the original UPC barcode. That would be a funny one to try to explain...
